PrizePicks, a skill-based fantasy gaming operator, has selected Socure to integrate its identity verification technology into the PrizePicks platform.
The technology from Socure will be used to facilitate Know Your Customer (KYC) verification by customers, as well as monitor and block identity fraud attempts.
Socure runs any KYC requests through a number of channels, such as algorithmic name matching, date of birth matching, SSN checking and address normalisation.
By using analytics models that flag identity attributes, Socure can escalate potential problematic customers and interactions to its Predictive Document Verification (DocV) system.
There, Predictive DocV will verify the authenticity of identification documents, such as passports and drivers licenses, and compare them with selfies to verify biometric matches.
Jay Deuskar, PrizePicks Co-Founder and CTO, said: “Capturing fraud at the top of the funnel was a big ticket item for us at PrizePicks.
“Socure’s integrated capabilities for KYC, fraud and document verification are impressive and have helped us implement a powerful verification workflow in a single solution.”
By developing technology that can detect false identification, such as modified headshots or using someone else’s identity, Socure can flag any illegal sign-ups to the PrizePicks platform.
In addition to ID document verification and KYC software, Socure also provides account intelligence systems, global watchlist monitoring, fraud risk services and a Socure ID+ Platform.
Earlier this summer, PrizePicks launched in Indiana as it expanded its market offerings in the state, offering fantasy sports and esports alike.
