Elys and Grand Central to open second joint Washington DC sportsbook

The supplier has done so by establishing a new joint venture, one that would open a second joint sportsbook location in Washington DC.

Although the specific location is yet unknown, approval is expected from the DC Department of Small & Local Business Development (DSLBD) and DC Office of Lottery and Gaming (DCOLG).

Elys is clearly looking to differentiate itself via this hospitality and restaurant approach. It could provide a novel experience for bettors – although the strategy’s long-term success will only be evident when revenue ps materialise and show positive trends over a consistent period of time.

Unsurprisingly, Elys Executive Chairman Michele Ciavarella is confident, highlighting early demand for Elys products.

He said: “We believe our sportsbook solutions could play an important role in supporting the recovery of bars, restaurants and other small businesses post-pandemic; and are witnessing very strong interest and demand for our solutions and our highly popular Build-Your-Bet feature for sports bettors.

“We appreciate the support of the DCOLG in establishing and developing our first MSP location. Together with DSLDB we now look forward to working closely with District officials and ownership, to advance plans for this second location and others underway through this new implementation model.”

Elys has signed a number of recent deals, with one particular partnership focusing on retail in Ohio – via Wright Bet.

Another development saw Elys granted approval for the Ozio Lounge sportsbook in Washington DC.

This added to Elys’ fifth DC location, having signed a new deal with Petworth Wagering back in June.
