The Major League Soccer season has concluded, and with its end comes the opening of the transfer market in the North American league. On Tuesday, the MLS SuperDraft 2023 was held, during which Inter Miami took the opportunity to sign Yannick Bright as a potential replacement for Sergio Busquets.
Hailing from the University of New Hampshire, the Italian midfielder Yannick Bright was selected by the Florida-based team. Bright, who plays as a defensive midfielder, could be the immediate replacement for the former Barcelona Spanish midfielder, Busquets. With experience in Italy’s Serie D, Bright was a semifinalist for both the First Team All-American and the MAC Hermann Trophy. He was a starter in all 19 matches for his university, recording two assists and earning the honor of Midfielder of the Year in the Eastern Conference of the United States.

“I am extremely excited. This is the best Christmas present ever. I am ready to contribute to the new goals of the institution,” said Bright after being selected.

Inter Miami also anticipates significant profits thanks to Lionel Messi, and while they await Luis Suárez, the club has also signed forward Ryan Carmichael from Hofstra University. Carmichael ranks second all-time in Hofstra’s scoring charts. Throughout his university career, Carmichael scored 46 goals and tallied 110 points for the Flying Dutchmen.
