Interblock Gaming’s Smart Pit has been installed at Penn Entertainment-run casino Boomtown Casino Biloxi, Mississippi.
As part of the installation, Boomtown Casino Biloxi is set to host a Grand Opening celebration on 27 June 2024, which is set to include food, giveaways and activities for attendees, of which the public is welcome to join. A ribbon is set to be cut at 3.30pm local time to mark the official launch of the Smart Pit, which will be called The EZ Play Zone at the casino.
Interblock Gaming’s Smart Pit is one of several of the supplier’s electronic table game (ETG) products. At Boomtown Casino Biloxi, the Smart Pit will include live craps, dual roulette and two blackjack tables, combining traditional table games with the enhanced technology afforded by the Smart Pit. The Smart Pit also operates without casino chips, which Interblock Gaming believes aids in increasing payout accuracy and the seamlessness of play.
On the launch, Interblock CEO John Connelly said: “We are thrilled to partner with Boomtown Casino Biloxi for the launch of our Smart Pit technology. This installation marks a significant milestone in our mission to revolutionise the gaming experience, combining advanced technology with traditional gaming elements to enhance both player engagement and operational efficiency.”
Boomtown Casino Biloxi VP and GM Barry Regula added: “We are excited to launch Boomtown’s EZ Play Zone, powered by Interblock’s Smart Pit solution. The EZ Play Zone offers our guests the convenience and flexibility of wagering electronically on blackjack, roulette and craps while still having the fun and camaraderie of interacting with a real dealer and other guests.”
In the May/June edition of Gaming America magazine, we spoke to Connelly about the design philosophy behind Interblock’s ETGs. In three terms, he described the business’ philosophy as “always innovating,” “always looking for technological efficiencies” and “do[ing] our best from a player diversity standpoint.”
In May, Interblock partnered with Grupo Orenes, Unidesa and Covimatic, with the three companies providing technological aid for Interblock devices in Spain. In June, Interblock partnered with Black Cow, bringing Interblock into the iGaming market.
