IGT has appointed Nick Khin as its President, Global Gaming. Khin enters the role after over a decade with the company, having previously served as IGT’s SVP, Gaming and COO.
Khin began his career in 1992 as Director at NCR, working with the business until 2001. In February 2002 he entered the gaming sector, joining Aristocrat as its MD and General Manager until being promoted in August 2008. He was brought on as President & CEO of the supplier up until June 2012, holding the role for just shy of four years. During this time, he also served as Board Director for the American Gaming Association, holding the role from December 2008 to June 2012.
After a decade with Aristocrat, Khin joined IGT as its SVP & Head of Corporate Strategy / M&A, holding the role from July 2013 to March 2015. Following this, he was appointed as COO of the business, before taking on his latest role as CEO, which he will step into effective immediately.
On his appointment, IGT CEO Vince Sadusky said: “Nick is the obvious choice to lead IGT Global Gaming. Under his leadership, IGT is consistently releasing top games and strengthening its performance in every game category.
“Nick’s knowledge, leadership and passion have earned him the respect of colleagues throughout our industry.”
IGT recently expanded on its sports betting presence in Nevada and Colorado via a technology and services partnership with Monarch Casino & Resort. IGT will provide its PlaySports platform and trading advisory services to the operator, impacting both retail and mobile sports betting.
It also recently posted its Q2 results, with revenue up 1% to $1.05bn; it was recently purchased (and taken private) by Apollo Global Management.
