Social casino videogame Vegas Infinite, developed by PokerStars, has officially launched on PlayStation 5 (PS5) in a move that seeks to expand the game’s audience to console users.
The addition of Vegas Infinite to PlayStation will allow console owners to access its slot, tournament and table game offerings – as well as allowing them the option to challenge players across the global PlayStation network.
Although PokerStars and PlayStation specify that no headset is required for the PS5 iteration of Vegas Infinite, there are a range of immersive environments for the player to select from. Backgrounds including private suites, Showdown Saloon, Macau 2050 and Galactic Space Station are available.
James O’Reilly, Director of Disruptive Innovation at PokerStars, said: “Launching on PS5 introduces a brand-new audience of console players to Vegas Infinite and gives everyone the chance to be part of our community whatever their platform of choice. We’ve been working tirelessly with our development partners at Lucky VR to rework our game for console and I’m very proud of the result.
“The controls are intuitive, the multiplayer gameplay is lively and compelling, and we’ve taken full advantage of the immense power of PlayStation 5 to showcase the depth and vibrancy of our environments. I can’t wait to explore them with our players.”
PokerStars had a busy start to 2024, partnering with Gaming Corps, Playson and RubyPlay across Spain, Romania and Italy in January alone – as part of a bid to enhance its European market presence. More recently, it has struck up a deal with 1X2 Network, in an attempt to help enhance the UK-based provider’s US market presence.
