World Series of Poker (WSOP) and Caesars Entertainment have launched the WSOP Online platform.

WSOP Online will offer real-money poker tournaments and cash games with a player pool across three US jurisdictions, which will be the first time a poker operator in North America has allowed this.

The three states will cover Michigan, Nevada and New Jersey.

WSOP Online, which is rebranded from WSOP.com, also launched with improved functionality on mobile.

This includes the capacity to multi-table up to four different games at once, as well as taking part in in-app gift drops.

Caesars Digital VP of Online Poker, Danielle Barille, said: “This platform upgrade is long overdue and is a big win for our players.

“The best is yet to come for WSOP Online tournaments, and we’re thrilled to bring Michigan players into the fold with Nevada and New Jersey, resulting in a better experience, more value, and the biggest prize pools of the year.”

Any existing money, tickets and reward points will be transferred over to the new platform, and players may be asked to reinstall the mobile app for all changes to take place.

WSOP Online will host five high-roller events in a hybrid format where the final tables will be played live in Las Vegas.

There will also be a $100,000 player appreciation freeroll No Limit Hold’em event, where customers who place a deposit on the platform between 28 May and 29 June will receive a free ticket to enter.

This comes only a few weeks after Caesars also became the first operator to introduce legalised mobile sports betting in North Carolina, operating exclusively on tribal lands of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians.
